Why Wooden Clocks?
All our wooden clocks, by the nature of the material, are unique. They also have an appearance that is unlike clocks made from any other material. With a registered design incorporating an exposed movement and unique clock face design, our wooden geared clocks are sure to be a conversation piece in any home.
You may find other wooden clocks advertised, but these are usually either wooden faced clocks, where the actual clockwork movement is still made of metal, or there are wooden kits or simply paper templates. Kits will rarely come with the precision required to ensure that a clock runs unaided. They are usually also wall-mounted. Ours are made to a compact design, with the drive weight situated within the clock frame, making this a true mantle or desktop clock. Our clocks are thoroughly tested before leaving our workshops.
Because of the natural properties of wood, each piece of the clock has to be individually hand made - crafted to very high degree of precision.
The only significant use of metal parts is the wood-encased pendulum and drive weight.
